The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center hosts Jazz at the Excelsior with saxophonist Marcus Click on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center was formerly the historic Excelsior High School, the first public high school for African-Americans in St. Augustine. Lincolnville Jazz at the Excelsior features talented artists performing in the renovated second-floor gathering space at 102 M.L.K., Jr. Avenue.  (There is an elevator.)

The Program

Marcus Click served in the U.S. Navy and found his career and passion playing jazz music on the alto saxophone. He credits saxophonist George Howard, Grover Washington, Jr., and David Sanborn among those who provided him with aid and inspiration. Click released a CD in 2023, Brand New Day, which reached #37 on the SmoothJazz.com top 100 chart. His performance on "Higher Ground" earned him the Instrumentalist of the Year Award from the InterContinental Music Awards in 2025.

From Kentucky, Click performs freqently in Florida, and is a repeat guest at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival in May.
