Back 40 Urban Fresh celebrates culinary diversity with a blend of Tex-Mex, Caribbean, and American cuisines. The restaurant honors the original location, the former Back 40 Urban Cafe in St. Augustine, by creating signature items with fusion flavors from regions closer to the equator, including quesadillas, tacos, burritos, and wraps.
Menu items include the drunken wet burrito, Cuban sandwich, and tacos. They also offer a generous selection of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Their foods offer bold taste, created with fresh ingredients.
They carry 40 beers on tap and offer select signature desserts such as homemade key lime pie, mud pie, and chocolate chip brownie.
Happy hour is daily from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., when tacos are $3.00 each. All dressings and salsa are made in the kitchen, and they keep it local by carrying their own datil pepper sauce.
Dine in or take it out. The Back 40 is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, and closes at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
