When I found Oyster Creek, I discovered a pearl, indeed! It's cozy, without really feeling small, super cute. The menu was exciting and tempting, with gentle twists on Southern favorites. I stopped in just to try at lunchtime and was overjoyed by the fried green tomatoes and greens. The service is wonderful, real and personal. Old school waitress style, not a bored college student with no food knowledge who hates you. I liked it so much I brought my honey for dinner. The Shrimp and Grits were outta this world!! His fried oysters were delicate and perfectly Delicious! One word - GO!

Oyster Creek Eatery just opened on King Street in the location where the the old Yard Bird's Restaurant was. I had breakfast there this morning to try them out and was very pleasantly surprised. I liked Yard Bird's but Oyster Creek is a big improvement over what I was used to there. I had the Breakfast Wrap and it was huge, almost more than I could eat. I sat outside on a very nice little patio and appreciated the friendly service. If they can keep up the good work it won't take long for this place to become a local favorite. In fact, I am looking forward to having lunch there soon, I want to try their Pirate Seafood Stew, or maybe the all-you-can-eat Spaghetti.
