Lauren Hungate at the wheel of her truck, parked by a grove of trees

Lauren Hungate

This songwriter specializes in collaborating with artists to write killer songs.

In high school, Lauren Hungate chose a music class for her required art elective it actually changed her life, although she didn't know it at the time. She just knew that she liked playing the piano and didn’t know what to do with it. Attending Lee University, she first majored in church music and then switched to studying the music business. Just like that required arts class in high school, the first songs Lauren wrote were for a required project in college. After graduating, she worked behind the scene in the music business for a few years, until she quit to focus on writing songs.

Jamie Floyd

Twice nominated for a Grammy, Jamie is a highly regarded songwriter.

Jamie Floyd, singer and songwriter, writes country songs that aren’t always typical country songs. That makes sense, once you hear her sing. Her voice isn’t exactly a country voice, but a mix of country and blues that slides and hops between octaves. Some of her songs are supremely dance-able, and she totally rocks the techno dance version of her song “Sad Summer.”

Mick Fury, musician, with guitar, and black background behind.

MIck Fury

Mick says that the secret to his success is messing up everything else.

Mick Fury moved to Hollywood to play and to perform, but having homeless women jump him TWICE put it all into the perspective of which way is up. Mick moved back to Syracuse, playing with the band Silent Fury, with a hard rock sound, and began opening for big acts. Mick's tongue-in-cheek humor reflects his wry awareness of the best way to take lessons from adversity. Next landing in Nashville, Mick found the entrance ramp to country music, and became a songwriter for movies and he reformed his band with a new album.

Songwriter Matt Dregstrem with guitar and microphone, smiling

Matt Dragstrem

Going to college adjacent to Nashville's Music Row had a strong influence on this songwriter.

From the Bluebird Café in Nashville in 2005 listening to a songwriter when the light bulb went off in his head and he thought, "I can do this," Matt hit the songwriting scene in Nashville and couldn't be stopped. In his sophomore year in college Matt began writing music for TV and film, and soon found his niche in country music, with his commentaries on the dance of interpersonal pursuits, such as the fellow who went into a bar and "threw this heart on a stool," and drinking, dancing, and partying, as well as agonizing love.
