Chef Peter Kenney has worked in restaurants since he was 15, and this family-owned and operated restaurant in St. Augustine Beach is managed by Kenney's wife Deidre. The two met while working in one of St. Augustine’s favorite eateries, Gypsy Cab Co., and their shared passion for great food and the dream of owning their own restaurant brought this winning duo together. The result is Purple Olive Bistro, which the Kenneys opened in 2004, a stylish and casual restaurant featuring a unique menu that highlights Kenney’s culinary skill.

Chef is wonderful. Restaurant is tucked in a small shopping center. Ambiance does not fit menu.

This is our favorite restaurant in St. Augustine. Excellent chef with creative choices. I love the way they prepare fish and the Hurricane dessert is the best ever.

We were looking so forward to going to this restaurant when our hotel recommended it and told us 2 for 1 specials on Wed. Our waiter did not mention the 2 for 1 so I asked him and he said we cannot get it without a coupon. I did not see any coupons of this nature in all the restaurant magazines/brochures only 10% off two entrees. I guess this is something only the locals know about. Not wanting to pay double for these specials, we had the early bird. I had chicken parmesion which was very good, but the vegetables were under cooked and tastless. My husband said the same thing about the vegetables. We will not be returning to this restaurant on our next trip.
