Pele's Wood Fire specializes in preparing both red and white Napoletana pizzas, cooking each one in a wood fire.
In addition, their menu includes calzones and burgers — cooked in a wood fire, Hawaiian style — plus sides, salads, and a kid's menu.
This food truck's story began when Matt and Rhyan were living in the Big Island of Hawaii where Matt worked at the prestigious Kuki'o Golf and Beach Club as a pizza cook. In 2009, Matt and Rhyan moved to St. Augustine, and started their business a year later, naming it after Madame Pele, the Hawaiian fire goddess.
Now, they have located one truck permanently at The Village Garden in St. Augustine Beach, just over the 312 bridge. And, with two wood fired trailers and a food truck, they continue to provide catering and serve their food at various events.
